Bearslake Inn
Food & Drink, Pub
Welcome to Bearslake Inn, a traditional thatched pub serving great, locally sourced food and offering quality accommodation in the stunning Dartmoor National Park. Our chef’s specialise in local produce and lucky for us the West Country is blessed with wonderful supplies of meat, fish, vegetables as well as a host of small artisan producers of cheese, ice cream and smoked products. Where and whenever possible we always try to source these direct from the farmer, fisherman or grower. Our shopping criteria is simple; best quality and locally produced. Located between the small market towns of Tavistock and Okehampton on the A386, Bearslake Inn is an ideal base from which to explore the delights of the local Moors and Tor’s of the Nation Park. We even have six spacious en-suite letting rooms (three of which are dog friendly) and plenty of parking.
Our chefs specialise in local produce and lucky for us our part of the West Country is blessed with wonderful local supplies of quality meat, fish, vegetables as well as a host of small artisan producers of cheese, ice cream and smoked products. Where and whenever possible we always try to source these direct from the farmer, fisherman or grower. Our shopping criteria is simple; best quality and locally produced (if not hyper-local then the South West is our goal).
We serve our take on Pub Classics in our bar, throughout our cosy pub and in our restaurant area. When the weather permits we also have a small selection of dishes that can be eaten on the patio or on our garden tables but we do not serve our main menu outside.
We always recommend booking a table when you intend to dine with us. We can get extremely busy and always give priority to our booked tables. If booking is not an option or if your visit is a last minute decision, we of course welcome you to come but there is no guarantee that a table may be found for you to eat at.

The Granite Way
The Granite Way is an 11 mile multi-use trail running between Okehampton and Lydford along the north western edge of Dartmoor. It is mostly traffic free, largely following the course of the former Southern Region railway line. A journey along the Granite Way offers fantastic views of the granite landscape of Dartmoor, as well as a number of specific sites of geological interest.
