This semi-detached stone cottage is set in the hamlet of Kelly near Lifton in Devon, close to the Dartmoor National Park.Retaining a wealth of character throughout with comfortable accommodation, this is a great place for a family holiday or get together with a group of friends who wish to explore this beautiful area.On entering you will notice the character of the property including original slate floors, beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls.Entry is through the conservatory with seating, making it a great place to relax, looking out to the large garden and to the views over the countryside.This leads through to the well-equipped kitchen with a dining table next to a woodburning stove, making a good social space for planning the day’s activities.The sitting room has plenty of comfy seating in front of a welcoming woodburning stove; lovely on those cooler evenings catching up with friends or family.Upstairs from a small landing there are two traditional bedrooms with lovely views and a family bathroom.To the front of the property is an enclosed lawned garden and to the back is a pretty patio garden with plenty of seating and a summerhouse to enjoy the countryside views afar.The small hamlet of Kelly is a short drive from the village of Lifton, which has a full range of facilities including a village store/Post Office, a church and a good range of pubs to enjoy.A 20 minute drive takes you to the former market town of Launceston which is on the Devon/Cornwall border.Launceston has Georgian buildings, ruins of a Norman castle, shops, cafes, restaurants, a museum and a church.For something different why not take a trip to Dartmoor National Park with plenty of paths, tracks and open moorland for you to explore on foot, bike or horseback as well as being a great place to try out new activities, such as climbing and geocaching?Within driving distance is the ancient stannary town of Tavistock and the seaside resorts of Bude and Padstow for a good day out.Whatever you decide to do, 1 Arthur Cottages is a wonderful place for exploring these two great counties at any time of the year. Lifton is a small village in the upper Tamar Valley, close to Launceston and the passing A30 road into Cornwall. This pretty community, once sitting astride the old A30 London to Penzance trunk road, is blessed with a village shop and post office, a superb pub and 3 top quality restaurants. At the far end of the village is an award winning farm shop/pick-your-own complex with a good bakery and on-site restaurant. Well placed for visiting anywhere in the South West, Dartmoor is 20 minutes away by car, Bodmin Moor is also 30 minutes and all of the major beaches and Cornish holiday attractions can be reached in under 45 minutes.
